Comments
Comments: Trails started as frozen mud with patchy ice this morning. Bare-booted up to the Carter Dome Trail/19MBT junction where we put on out spikes. Sown depth increased with elevation. A couple ice bulges to deal with on the Carter Dome Trail below the ridge. CMT was packed snow the whole way with a couple minor icy areas. North Carter Trail was packed snow all the way. The Imp Trail started as a thin layer of snow over ice and transitioned to just ice then to bare ground where we took off our spikes. Some mud here and there at the end of the day after things warmed up a bit. Microspikes were fine for the whole trip.
