Comments
Comments: Raining when I drove thru Lincoln but as I headed up Kanc it turned to snow. It continued to snow the first hour of my hike. Snow was a good thing it stuck to packed snow ice and improved the grip. I followed tracks of a father-son duo and caught them at the Scaur Trail intersection. Plenty of snow from top of Ravine and above but it was cold enough today that no one has post holes. If you step off packed Trail you will go up to your knees. I was in a cloud and it was windy all the way to Middle and then it cleared just as I was leaving. Nice cut viewpoints, thank you I appreciate them. I enjoyed good views from North summit from another good cut viewpoint looking north. On the descent I further enjoyed continued clearing vista through the leaf-less birches. I noted on return from Wilderness boundary over the many water crossings it is muddy and then the packed snow is blue ice back to the Kanc. Got lucky with the new half inch of snow because it covered a lot of ice. Great hike with winter.
