4-5 step-overs; 1-2 (depending how tall you are) duck-unders on Osseo Trail near Franconia Ridge Trail. |

Great May hike (except it is March)! Used microspikes on LW trail, then switched to bare-boots on lower end of Osseo. Switched to spikes just before sharp right-hand turn. Made the correct decision to switch to crampons just before Viewpoint on Osseo. Ladders and surrounding trail were very icy. They were beyond my comfort level on spikes, although one party (the only other people I saw on Osseo) managed them fine in spikes. |
