| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking at end of sawyer river road as the road is still closed. Parking lot has been well maintained. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Blue, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Traction |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings were either bridged, rock hopable. The largest open crossing I was able to walk across the shallows with no problems. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are some blow downs but all are easily stepped over or under. Trail is poorly marked. The packed ice trail was how I navigated 99% of this hike. Trail blazes seemed to be lacking. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
My pup had no issues today |
| Bugs: |
None |
| Lost and Found: |
Lost my drivers license and debit card. I'm fairly sure they went missing on the trail as I have scoured the house and truck and can't find them. They will be together in a tdbank credit card sleeve. |

| Comments: |
Started my hike at 330. Trails were frozen and once I hit the steep section I had to swap from micro spikes to trail crampons after my micros couldn't get a good bite on solid ice and caused me to fall and slide down the trail a bit. Once the sun came out the trails got soft and micros might have been enough to get a good bit on the ice. With the road closed this adds a 2 mile road walk each way. |
