Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking at end of sawyer river road as the road is still closed. Parking lot has been well maintained.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Blue, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction, Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings were either bridged, rock hopable. The largest open crossing I was able to walk across the shallows with no problems.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are some blow downs but all are easily stepped over or under. Trail is poorly marked. The packed ice trail was how I navigated 99% of this hike. Trail blazes seemed to be lacking.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My pup had no issues today
Bugs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost my drivers license and debit card. I'm fairly sure they went missing on the trail as I have scoured the house and truck and can't find them. They will be together in a tdbank credit card sleeve.

Comments
Comments: Started my hike at 330. Trails were frozen and once I hit the steep section I had to swap from micro spikes to trail crampons after my micros couldn't get a good bite on solid ice and caused me to fall and slide down the trail a bit. Once the sun came out the trails got soft and micros might have been enough to get a good bit on the ice. With the road closed this adds a 2 mile road walk each way.
