Date of Hike: Saturday, March 12, 2016
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Spring skiers filling up the parking lot but plenty of room. Conditions are too warm to keep the skiers interested. Parking lot is dirt covered and the previous week's rain added a few new trenches that you had to go over slowly.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow - Spring Snow
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Snow melt has started so the volume of water is building. Rock hopping across the water was pretty easy. A couple of the rocks had some ice crust on the top.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails and signs looked good.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one pooch on the way down as I was nearing the upper part of the Tecumseh trail. Accepted a friendly scratch behind the ears
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: You can get up the lower part of Tecumseh without any spikes but the upper part of Tecumseh was very icy and snow covered. Tecumseh peak had blobs of ice covering the trail, please don't forget your spikes. I crossed over Sosman trail in order to snowboard down the ski trails. I actually had to hike down some of the ski trail in order to get to the snow coverage. I did see some post holes from previous hikers but the snow cover is so thin that the holes were not that deep and easy to avoid.
