Comments
Comments: This was a slow hike. Had to change traction often. "Rock spikes" would have worked well, but I left them at home. Wore Hillsounds for 1st mile on Blueberry Ledge , barebooted 2nd mile on S facing slopes, and put the Hillsounds back on 3rd mile, Off for the rock scrambles, then On again for the summit. The Rollins Trail has a stable monorail which was good with traction. As the afternoon warmed the ice softened. Crampons would have worked better on the significant ice flows. The Dicey Mills trail is fast hiking, light traction required, with a stable monorail until last mile which I barebooted. Snowshoes took a ride as they have for the last month...Temps were great, views were terrific!
