||The trail up to Pierce was mostly ice from the rain and melt off. The micros worked fine from parking lot to the peak.|
The trail between Pierce and Eisenhower was ice/frozen granular/stable and unstable monorail. I used micros and considered several times switching to snowshoes but didn't. I postholed about 10 times but it wasn't worth the changeover.
The micros were a better choice for this section today. I would still carry the shoes for warming conditions as postholing might increase.
