Comments
Comments: Lower part of trail was a real mud pit! Donned spikes just after junction to Bald Peak. Many, many long ice flows with running water on many of them. Crampons would have been the ticket today but with care, Sharp Hillsounds did the trick. Kinsman Ridge wasn't bad since a significant amount of snow filled in the steeps.

The 24 degree temp kept the trail firm but you may want to consider snow shoes tomorrow for the section between the summits since temperatures supposed to climb.

Our descent wasn't as bad as we anticipated since the boiler plate ice had softened.

Met Two hikers who came up Fishin' Jimmy who said there were major ice bulges to deal with & turned around on North Kinsman since they feared it would take a long time to descend.

Great meeting Heide & hiking out with her. Fantastic day out with my main squeeze & Wild Bill Cronin.
