First mile muddy but no ice. Put crampons on at about 1.5 mile and needed them the rest of the way. Lots of blue ice and very steep in some places, starting to get a good amount of running melting water. It was VERY windy on the peak. Leave the snowshoes in the car but definitely take the crampons.... You'll be glad you did. Lots and lots of ice between mile 2-3. No snow on peak! |
