Parking/Access Road Notes: Room for many on north side of NH 112 at Pine Bend and large, cleared lot at Sabbaday.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings on Pine Bend Brook easily done on minimal flowing brooks. Afternoon crossings on Sabbaday Brook required some thought and careful stepping as ice wasn't strong enough in several spots. Found out that one of my boots was no longer nicely waterproof. If you don't like dicey crossings probably best to avoid Sabbaday at this time.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Pine Bend has a few blowdowns not causing any rerouting. Sabbaday had a couple which had lengthy routes around; need snow gone for proper cleanup.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one named Pierce (first Pierce I've met) enjoying the day. Other than crossings on Sabbaday and road walk this is a fine loop for dogs.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Brought a nice, black glove out and left it on the rail at start of Sabbaday Brook Tr. Hopefully belonged to hiker I had chatted with up top.

Comments
Comments: Loop was mainly 3 different conditions today. Boot packed trail until top of climb out of the ravine on Pine Bend Tr.. More boot packed trail (with what looked like a little help from snowshoes yesterday) from that point to Middle Tripyramid. Sabbaday Brook Tr. was far less packed but at least 5 others were coming down after me so it may be more packed but not as well as Pine Bend route. Ice wasn't much of an issue but was surfacing more in the steeps(both trails)with traffic. Beautiful day and 14 others seen out enjoying day as well. Enough snow depth so as to probably want snow shoes if it warms up this week.
