In my quest for a completely ice-free hike, thought we would try the Carriage Road all the way but Breezy Point road is not plowed past the last mailbox. Hiked Gorge Brook instead, trail is in great condition, microspikes or bare boots for the road, microspikes for the first part of the trail which is light ice and snow mixed with rock. Could use snowshoes for the last mile, where the snow is deeper and softer. Wonderful day today. |
