Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Up to the beginning of the Firewarden's Trail, the cover was packed or crusty snow with some minor sections of easy blue ice. Snow depths increased with elevation on the FWT to 10" to a foot of powder above 3500'. All 8 hikers who ascended it had anticipated far less snow and were without snowshoes (will we ever learn?), so the trail, while not postholed, won't be a snowshoer's dream.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One humbling crawl-under on the FWT, up high. All else in good shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Buddy had fun and cruised it.

Comments
Comments: Nice day with Chris and, for some of the hike, Nancy and Buddy. It snowed lightly up high, obscuring any views but adding to the winter wonder.
