Beautiful weather for a great hike. Took the Rocky Branch bushwhack on the hike in, definitely a time saver, despite some woodsier hike conditions. Gorgeous views up top. Stayed on the regular trail for the return, bummed to see Rocky Branch #2 is gone. Feeling fortunate I was able to visit the shelter and snap some photos a couple years ago. The trail is hard-packed and the travel is very smooth. Micro-spikes are a must. Snowshoes would be overkill. |
