Comments
Comments: Wanting to get in a quick hike on leap day, started at 1:45 as the forecast indicated a later start would be best with a chance of clearing. Was soon in the clouds and about ¾ of the way up the glades what had started as an intermittent sleet/drizzle had become more steady with no sign of letup. Donned rain gear and called it a day, headed back to the car. Up to that point the trail was basically an extended ice flow. Used crampons. Met Larry Y and another hiker, sorry, don’t remember his name, returning to their car as I did; both nearing completion of a SSW48.
