Comments
Comments: We used microspikes until we got to Gem Pool. Then we switched to crampons which we used up to the summit of Mount Monroe and back down to Gem Pool where some of us switched back to Microspikes. There was serious ice on the trail and crampons are recommended. It was cloudy to the summit of Mount Monroe and then the clouds parted and it become a beautiful sunny day after that. The ice was becoming more slushy as we descended the Ammo in the afternoon but crampons were so great coming down the icy sections especially at the higher elevations.
