Comments
Comments: We parked at Crawford Depot where it was 32 at 10:00 am, some gusty winds. Wearing microspikes, ascended via Avalon Trail, where the snow was a bit soft on lower portion, but then snow packed firm the rest of the way up to Mt Field. Summit temp 20, views obscured, nothing but clouds to see. Light variable wind, pleasant. We headed over to Mt. Tom via Willey Range Trail, which was in great condition, as was Mt. Tom Spur. Gray jays were present on both peaks, willing to take food from our hands. Headed back down via A-Z Trail to Avalon Trail to parking lot by 2:00 pm. Lightly snowing here and there at times throughout the day. We saw ~20 other hikers and a few dogs. Despite lack of views, a wonderful day to be out.
