| Comments: |
Started in microspikes up the Camp Dodge Road/Trail. All the ice on the Imp Trail was very soft so easily managed. A short way up the North Carter trail the snow got really deep so switched to snowshoes. There is a lot of unpacked snow up on the Carter-Moriah Trail. Kept the shoes on until the junction of 19 mile brook and then switched back to microspikes. 19 mile Brook was very slushy this afternoon. There were quite a few people on the trails today, some with snowshoes (YEAH) and some without (BOO). We have been spoiled this winter with the ability to run around in microspikes. Snowshoeing was a lot of work today, it snowed a little in the afternoon. Very windy heading to Carter Dome. The trail was all blown in on the hike back out. |
