There were a couple inches of fresh snow this morning over hard packed ice. That made North Twin trail pretty slippery (couldn't get any traction with the spikes). Better traction in my way back out as snow had melted and ice siftened in warm temps. There was less ice on the FW trail, and snow got steadily deeper with 1.5 to 2 foot drifts. Snowshoes needed for the last 2 miles or so.
GPS said the trip was 10 miles but I think it was more like 8.5-9 miles. Took me 4.5 hours round trip. |
