Gale River Rd mostly dirt with icy patches. First 2/3 of Gale River Tr was very icy, used microspikes. Switched to snowshoes for steep part up to the ridge, along ridge and to/from S Twin (for traction, for the televators and to not mess up the trail). 6-8" unconsolidated snow with some deeper drifts on upper part of Twinway to S Twin, now broken out and packed for the weekend! Nice to see Tim on the S Twin summit, only person I saw all day! |
