Comments
Comments: ICE. Things are pretty frozen up there now. Not much change in the amount of snow on the ground in the mountains from week to week. Ice down low, ice up high, crusty stuff in the middle and on the tippy top. Our group used spikes up to the Carter Moriah Trail junction, then switched to full crampons to hike up the ridge. We were glad we did as some of the ledges were very icy. Bushwhacked around the chute to the top to avoid the big ice flow. Wore the crampons back down. Some changed part way down, some just kept them on to the cars. They were good to have today.
