 | Comments: |
From Old Stage Road to treeline is generally frozen granular; can be barebooted with care. I Microspiked the ascent and barebooted the descent. Snowpack perhaps 2-6".
Upon breaking out of the woods into the scrub, the snowpack starts to disappear, though there are stretches of blue ice, as well as an icy coat on top of frozen granular. There are also extended bare stretches. I took off my spikes, rather than do extended stretches on bare ledge, and carefully picked my way over the icy areas. Like with Ladd to the west and Prospect to the northwest, it appears a temperature inversion and/or fog earlier this week zapped much of the summit of its snowpack. |
