Iciest trail conditions that I have evah experienced, apparently after 2-3" wet snow, followed by about 2" rain day before; needed spikes to exit vehicle, which I left on entire route. I never carry crampons, but would have worn them if I had 'em. Four others on their way down posted-holed out deep drifts on CMT; thanks. Report of not-seen solo female hiker doing three Carters and the Wildcats. Fast trail conditions again, like so many days this "winter;" temperatures warmed up over 70 degrees F in less than 48 hours across many areas of New England between Sunday and Tuesday. Three more peaks for second February grid. |
