Comments
Comments: Fast packed down trail with some minor drifting. I barebooted 1/2 the trail and road and used spikes for the rest, at the beginning of the trail, there were some pretty big ice bulges that I crossed in spikes, very pretty ice formations with brilliant colors--I carried snow shoes but the drifting did not last long enough to use them , I followed the foot prints in the trail.Very clear views today. I did not see anyone on the trail all day until I was walking down Sawyer road and saw 2 hikers at the bottom snow shoeing around the river. Heard animals in the woods, saw lots of bear prints but didnt see anything, very peaceful hike.
