Post hole party in the Belknaps! We had a great time laying out a bare boot track that would give the saintly snowshoers a heart attack in an average of 4 to 6 inches of snow. The giraffe did a great job especially, with his low surface area hoofs bearing all that extra weight from life in confinement at the zoo now. She-who-hikes-a-lot was also great company as she works on redlining America. Cold was very manageable with light balaclavas and clothing.. It is winter in NH so no need to be hysterical. Snowshoes could have been used, especially on the Klem mack loop portion which hadn't been used I. A while though it was still a bit bones with rocks sticking out. |
