Comments
Comments: This report is likely to change somewhat over the next few days with the incoming snow and colder temperatures.

Lincoln Woods was slushy. Either snowshoes or light traction. Just enough slush to make walking a bit slippery and more energy sapping than we wanted at the start of a Bond traverse.

Bondcliff Trail had seen no traffic in a least a day, snowshoes were the way to go as the snow was soft enough to posthole in places. Bond step was icy, and probably can be done in light traction/traction, but we bypassed around to the left through the scrub to the top of it. Bondcliff itself was icy and bony, with very little snow cover, not great for clattering over in snowshoes, but too short of a section to change traction.

Twinway was well packed on the track and easier going than in summer, fast track down to the hut. A few ice bulges in the ledgy sections near the ladder, might have some new snow on them on Friday.

Zealand Trail and Road packed and icy, probably due to hut traffic. We wore light traction from the hut to the car, which was perfect for the conditions.

Great day out with Claudette and Kevin, we even lucked out and had sunshine and blue skies on Bondclif and Bond!
