 | Comments: |
Gunstock Mountain Trail was rather icy at the start and end, including the winter short cut. Middle portion had extended bare spots. I needed Microspikes to ascend and would be hesitant to descend the trail at the moment.
There were also some very large blue ice bulges on the Saddle Trail; light traction needed.
The Blue Trail had ice and frozen granular. 2015 BRATTS volunteer work has made the previously dangerous scramble ledges much easier to ascend via steps (some ice, but light traction was adequate).
The upper Red Trail was very icy. Reconstructed lower quarter of the trail was probably barebootable due to the drainage and step work done by the BRATTS in 2014 and 2015.
The Carriage Road was maybe 50/50 covered with snow/ice. Light traction helpful. |
