Liberty Springs trail was 30% ice going up to about 3600ft. The rest of the trail was very hard packed snow. Above 3600ft it became more of a hard packed snow surface. Once above tree line anywhere on the ridge there was a lot of hard ice. Want to say thank you to the person that purchased my hillsounds for me, they performed unbelievably. (TY) From Falling Waters all the way to Lafayette and down 500ft toward the hut was completely hard ice. Once beyond this point it was much safer climbing. Another fast winter climb, which isn`t normal. I`ve never seen this little snow. I hope the rain we get tomorrow will end up being snow. Keep our fingers crossed. |
