| Comments: |
Trails are well-packed (including "bushwhack" at the back of Camp Dodge) all the way to the ridge line and down from ridge. On ridge, trail alternates between hardpack and firm, slightly unconsolidated snow atop thick ice, with some sections of exposed ice. Carried snowshoes and considered using them, but used light traction, instead -- never came close to postholing. Saw some folks using light traction, and some using snowshoes.
Other than the couple of sections on Nineteen Mile Brook Trail that are usually open/draining/running/wet rock, all trails were completely snow- or hardpack-covered and very fast-moving. |
