great hike, started out cold at 7 below but no wind and warmed up nicely. Bright blue skies. No one on Hale Brook Trail, few people on Zealand Road who were cross country skiing,solo hiker heading for Zealand hut which he tells me is open with a caretaker.
Trail pack down, easier to hike than in the summer with snow covering the rocks |
