| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in great condition. Post but no sign for South Peak spur. When coming down near the fields, the trail splits into two old roads and there is no sign saying the left is the trail. Then after the fields it splits in the sense that the old road to the right goes to the parking area while the other is the trail. Not a big deal and easy if one hiked up from same place but still odd for the AT. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Very easy day for the mighty tough little dog. Some small streams low down; above that it is BYOB. Pepper tanked up on top from my folding bowl. |

Where was everybody? A great peak on a great trail on a great day in August, and no day hikers on our route. We did see 2 from the Ravine Lodge that came up the Spur trail route. We did see 6 AT hikers and it was fun to talk with them. They cherished the great day, and there were reports a "trail magic" was awaiting them in the notch. |
