Comments: Beautiful day spent with best friends. From Parking lot to lonesome lake we wore spikes. Well packed. We were able to save .3 miles and walk across the lake to the hut. The views from the middle of the lake are worth the walk in alone!! From the hut up FGT we stayed in spikes. A few ice bulges here and there but easily navigated around. Coming down was a bit trickier though. Once we hit North Kinsman we switched to snow shoes heading to south kinsman. Lots of unconsolidated snow. The shoes just made more sense !! Trail is very well packed now. Lots of people heading up as we were coming down. Little wind and great views!! Great day indeed!!
