Crossings generally solid, but be careful. Upper part of Rocky Branch is wet underneath snow, so step carefully. Engine Hill bushwhack avoids the worst wet areas of Rocky Branch trail. |

Rocky Branch to Isolation to Davis Path to summit spur; took Davis/Isolation and Engine Hill bushwhacks on the way back
Broke trail all the way, joined forces with Jamie to take turns. No less than eight people on trail today, a Friday, in winter! Snowshoes a must, as you'll very likely run into drifts. Hardly a breeze on the summit, with clear, cloudless sky and fantastic views of Boott Spur, Washington, and the southern presidentials. Hike safe! |
