Comments
Comments: Parked at Gale River then jogged to logging road and hiked to Garfield Trail via that route. Old snowmobile trail had been cleaned up a bit since the spring. Garfield Trail had water running down it in places. Found the abandoned Garfield Pond Trail and took it to the pond and then to Garfield Ridge Trail - generally an obvious footbed to follow, though vague in one or two places, also some blowdowns. Too bad - would be a nice way to loop over the summit. Garfield Ridge Trail had water running down the steeps near the campground, as well as some muddy spots. Bushwhacks to the Garfield Ridge peaks were a bit thick but not too long. Cannister/jar on each. Some muddy spots on Gale River Trail. Saw flagging tape but no obvious signs of clearing of the new route yet.
