Tough hike for this little summit. The road walk is a killer. It adds 7 miles to the hike. What tracks were on road were covered quickly with drifted snow. Ski's are the way to go for this one!! Zealand trail was packed out pretty good but wind drifts in spots. The steeps to the hut were well packed. Twin way was waiste deep snow drifts. My tracks were pretty much covered on the return. Tough at times to navigate trail. NO more free rides for the snowshoes anymore. If you have them bring them!! Winter is finally here:) |
