| Comments: |
I barebooted up until the steep section of Glencliff, then I wore spikes. Below the Carriage Road the snow was never more than an inch deep. The spur up to the South Peak had 3-4 inches of unpacked snow. The Carriage Road had 3-4 inches of unpacked snow as well in the trees. Out of the trees the conditions were variable, rime covered rocks in spots, and drifts of 6-12 inches in other spots. I was the first person up, but on the way down I came across several people wearing snow shoes, so things should be well packed now.
An unbelievably gorgeous day. Blue skies and breezy, but not too cold. |
