We decided to try Gorge Brook Trail today, as it offers better protection than Glencliff from the predicted high winds. It seemed like the winds were not as high as predicted, however. We even had a few moments on the summit where it was dead calm. There were quite a few people on the trail today, most wearing light traction or snowshoes. Conditions were pretty fast, with enough snow to smooth the trails out. No ice to worry about. If there is another decent snowfall, then snowshoes would become the better option. Right now, light traction is probably better. Great hiking with Dave and Larry. |
