Comments
Comments: A wonderful day of hiking. It snowed on us most of day, a wet snow, almost rain in the afternoon. On the way up the road had just a couple of inches of snow, with another inch or 2 added during the day. The beginning of the Garfield Trail, when you go into the woods, had just traces of snow but had an inch or 2 couple by the time we came down. The rest of the trail was packed snow, with the occasional rock sticking through, with some new snow on top. Another 2 or 3 inches were added up high, with just 1 or 2 inches of new snow on the lower half of the trail.

I wore micro-spikes most of the way up and down. My partner put his snow shoes on at the Garfield Ridge Trail on the way up, and left them on most of the way down. There were a few ice spots under the snow. Overall all the trail is in good shape, but could really use some more snow for a good base and some cold weather to freeze the stream crossing.

No views, we were in a cloud all day. We did not see anyone else on the trail.
