Comments
Comments: Everything will change today, but there is almost no snow for the first mile or so. Dirt, grass and rocks showing down low. More and more as you climb, but never more than a few inches. Purpose of this report is the ice. It is significant from a little after Bald Peak spur to the col between North and South. Crampons would not be overkill. Every one I met had spikes (including me), but they were ineffective in several spots. Resorted to the Chuck Berry slide coming down a few spots even with sharp spikes on, which I wore truck to truck. Snowshoes would be a real PIA, need more snow. Met several on my way down that also came up Kinsman, and one that came up Fishing Jimmy and reported lots of ice as expected.
