Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossig on the Ammonoosuc Ravine Tr were mostly frozen, however care had to be taken to avoid the slabs of ice. The bridge on the Jewell Spur is gone and one must now cross on the ice over the water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The sign for the Ammonoosuc Ravine Tr near Lakes of the Clouds Hut has fallen over. The sign at the junction of Trinity Heights Connector and Gulfside Tr has fallen over as well and is frozen in the snow. Several leaners along Jewell Tr and two big ones that are blocking the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good conditions for dogs above treeline today. Enough snow to cover most rocks and fill in the holes but not too deep or cold. I did see Marlie post hole a few times as we crossed over Mt Clay. Ammonoosuc Ravine Tr had some hard ice that may cause issues for some dogs. Marlie handled it easier than I did as would most experienced winter trail dogs. It was nice meeting Baxter and Griffin out on the trail.

Comments
Comments: What can I say that others haven't already? It was an amazing day to be above 5000'! At 10:30 it was 32 degrees with a 5mph wind on Mt Washington! It was very nice meeting so many people that I had met before or read so many reports from. It's always nice to put faces to names. There were several doing traverses, and may grid completers (including Ed Hawkins), and a few peak baggers. Watching the clouds roll in and swallow the southern peaks on my descent was quite amazing.
