What a day for a Presi Traverse!! Valley way was a barebootable side walk. Heading up to Madison we took our spikes off half way up. Incredible star lit sky. Airline to Adams was another well packed highway. We got to view an incredible sunrise!! Coming down Airline was a little icy on the exposed rocks and we were careful where we stepped as the snow was not packed enough between the rocks. Heading to Jefferson was blue bird endless views. Great gulf was post holed but easy to go through, barebooted Jefferson and all the way till cog tracks then put spikes on. We decided to head up the tracks and somehow went up Nelson crag. This too is now postholed. On the summit of Washington was minor ice and I actually could wear a tshirt!! We could see all the way to Adirondacks.. Coming down crawford path was another paved trail..made fast time to Monroe. From Monroe to Pierce was well packed. Stayed in spikes the entire way. Lots of ice on lower section of Crawford. Just incredibly lucky to have today off. Coming off Washington. Seems to of been alot of Friday Flues out there!!! Good for you..Days like this are far and few between!! Looking forward to more snow!! |
