Comments
Comments: An amazing day on Franconia Ridge with 100 mile plus visibility! Spikes worn car to car...snow shoes took a long ride.
All trails nicely packed and in great shape. About 2 inches of packed snow on the ladders so care must be taken on descending.
The climb up to Lafayette was epic with the howling winds and extreme temps. A great test for your gear and nerves. Bill metered winds on summit of Lafayette
at 35 sustained and gusts at 47mph. Actual air temp was 7. Temp was 14 when we reached Lincoln Woods. Mostly out of the wind during the ridge walk.
One of the best hikes I can remember. Missed my main squeeze but enjoyed Wild Bill's company with his many stories.
