| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Obviously, Zealand Road is closed, but it's well packed and ski tracked so it goes by quickly. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow - Drifts, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All were easy, including Zealand. Ice bridges are starting to form. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a HUGE blowdown about half way down Hale Brook. We had to skirt around it to the uphill side, which was a little sketchy. One could probably just as easily crawl through/under, but we were tired and chose to go around. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cole (large Shiba Inu) was right with us the whole 26 miles and had no issues. |

| Comments: |
The only time that snow shoes really would have been fine was across Guyot to the Twinway and a few sections across the ridge. Everything was nicely packed, but there was still enough large rocks around so that snowshoes would have been more cumbersome than worthwhile. Other than that, we never used out spikes, though I would still bring them with. |
