Terrific late afternoon! I used snowshoes because I didn't want to roll my ankle. A little bony in snowshoes but really OK except for occasional rocks poking up through. On the descent I took the ski trail down (Boneyard, then learning/J-bar area) - was OK in snowshoes but snow far too deep to bareboot on the ski trail. Occasionally open waterbars on ski trails - had to be a little careful. No views but terrific woods. Got back to car about an hour after sunset but no need for headlamp. |
