Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easy today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were a few brushy spots on the North Carter and Carter-Moriah Tr as well as a few fallen dead trees. I pushed several off of the trail but a couple will require a saw. None of which required going off trail to get around. 19 Mile Brook Tr has a couple new reroutes. The trail now starts to the left of the kiosk instead of next to the river.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy hike for Marlie today. Not much water on the ridge and the puddles were frozen solid so plan accordingly.

Comments
Comments: The conditions resembled more of a late October hike than December. Very little ice and not a trace of snow. Above 3000' the mud and loose dirt was frozen solid making for easy travel. I had each summit to myself and spent a half hour lounging on Hight in the sun and barely a breeze. We met only 7 other hikers! What a great first "winter" hike to check off a few more peaks for Marlie.
