Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only crossing of note was the first crossing of Clark Brook on the old Clark Path/Trail, where the bridge has been out for several years. The usual stepping stones were several inches below water, so we used a nearby downed tree that spans the brook.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All trails are in good shape -- no major concerns. On Clark Trail between Woodland Trail and Vistamont Trail, drainage channels and waterbars are a bit clogged with leaves.

Comments
Comments: We did a loop from AMC Cardigan Lodge using a road walk (Shem Valley Road), Clark Trail and Vistamont Trail to reach the ridgeline on Orange Mountain, followed by a walk to Rimrock and South Peak, then down via Hurricane Gap to Clark Trail. We took a detour on the Bailey Brook Ski Trail, and the Nature Trail before heading back to the car.

Spring conditions -- no ice nor snow, but plenty of ponding on trails, water running down ledges, and wet leaves. Water is running quite high everywhere and is making for nice waterfalls, in particular Elizabeth Holt Falls about 0.2 miles west of Croo Bridge.

Nice, relaxing, sunny Christmas Day hike. Warm -- mid-50s on the ridge line -- no one else on the trails.
