| Comments: |
Bare booted to the summit. The trail was treacherous in places with the mix of bare rock and ice. There was not enough ice to support crampons/microspikes. Stabilizers might have worked well with the ice. A slight dusting from snow showers made the ice difficult to detect. NOAA forecast was very accurate: occasional snow showers, winds: 35-40 with gusts up to 60 mph. With little or no snow on the mountain there was considerable amount of tree protection from the wind until the last several hundred feet. |
