 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a number of dogs on the trail including a large black Newfoundland that stopped at Galehead hut. On Bondcliff just below Bondcliff summit there is a rock scramble that dogs will need help getting up and down. Only water on the trail is at Galehead hut, Guyot campsite (though you'll need to drop down 250 feet to get it), and in streams quite a ways down Bondcliff below the Bondcliff summit. |

 | Bugs: |
A few buzzing around but not biting |

A pair of glasses was left hanging on a tree branch on the lower section of Bondcliff |

 | Comments: |
A great day though the forcasted sunny conditions never materilized. My opinion - the Bonds traverse is the best hike in the whites for views especially with south twin thrown in!
There were spots of mud on all trails - Gale River and Twinway just small spots that won't cause any problems. On Boncliff from junction with Twinway to Boncliff a few minor spots. On the lower section on Bondcliff especially after the uppermost stream crossing (heading down) there are more substantial stretches of mud. Stayed at the hut Friday after heading up Gale River and did the traverse Saturday. A lot of people on the trails today. Met two people that were finishing up their NH 48 4K's on the Bonds today. For me it was 44 - West Bond, 45 - Bond, and 46 - Bondcliff with Carrigan and Garfield to go. |
