Nice day for a hike, we went south to North with a car spot. We barebooted to just past the turn off to Ethan Pond and then put on the microspikes. Steep south of Willey was a mix of bare rock, mud and ice. Stairs were clear. No significant blowdowns except for a large one on the Tom spur. I was surprised, not that many folks on the trail for what turned out to be a nice day. Despite the forecast of high clouds, Camels Hump was visible to the west. |
