all easily rock hopped on Brook trail |

in pretty good shape, though that last mile of Brook trail is a doozy, with wet rock and loose gravel (eroded) spots |

probably would be okay for dogs. might have some trouble on the upper part of Brook trail. |

there is a single black pull-on ice stablizer hanging from a branch close to where Liberty trail meets Hammond (might actually be on Hammond) |

a reunion hike for BSK & myself...we haven't hiked together since summer. very warm day and low winds on the summit at 10:30am. saw more sunshine than was forecast. brought micros...didn't need them at all. plenty of wet rock on upper Liberty/Hammond and Brook trails, but no ice. the original plan was to ascend Brook and descend Liberty, but in my excitement to get hiking, didn't read the sign and spaced it on the trail description about Brook trail beginning past the gate, down the road and off to the right. it wasn't a treat descending Brook, but we made it. |
