Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings were wasily rock hopped. The uppermost crossing of Bog Brook has been relocated a short distance downstream, below the beaver dam.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a few blowdowns on Bog Brook Tr but none that make you leave the trail. There is one large blowdown on the Wildcat Valley XC ski trail that will need to be removed before skiers can pass.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy hike for Marlie today. There is some ice on the Wildcat Ridge Tr that may be tricky for clumsy dogs.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I found a dead moose on the Wilcat Valley XC ski trail about a mile above the WMNF boundary and just below the first aid cache. It had no external injuries that I could see and looked to have only been there a day or two.

Comments
Comments: What a wonderful December day to add some more redlines and enjoy a new to me route up over the 'Cats. I hiked up to A peak in a t-shirt! Light traction was greatly appreciated along the ridge although I'm sure I dulled them up quite a bit on the rocks. It was a sad sight to see the moose. Hopefully it died of natural causes. The large glade on the ski trail was very nice to walk through.
